This Children’s Day, we’re proud to highlight the incredible progress of STAR, SHINE's 1 to 1, long-term professional child mentorship programme.
From excelling in academic goals to personal development, our children have shown that nothing is impossible when given the right guidance and opportunities.
The Friend (mentor) has taught my child how to speak good English and also to prepare her for primary school. The Friend also helped my child to learn new words and also to communicate with each other properly and confidently.

Joining SHINE’s ALPS Odyssey programme is really a new and fruitful experience for me. I shared in the opening training session that I am not a ‘reader’ nor a storyteller, even to my own girls at home. But the transformation came after finishing the last session of the programme. Seeing the kids achieving and accomplishing what they set out to do – to read – is truly joyful and priceless.
